Poor FM reception

Default Poor FM reception
do any of the software upgrades address this?

what have others done to improve it -- ?

the route I took yesterday should have had several stations that were strong enough to trigger the search feature to stop -- but it kept going back to the station I had chosen originally -- but was out of range

Yes, the latest software update from Harley took care of this issue for me

The search feature isn't the greatest. You're better off setting your left button to "tune", manually moving up or down the band & when you hit a strong station you like assign it to a favorites "button".

I don't listen to the FM radio so can't say any thing about the improvement but new software claims to improve FM reception especially for weaker signal stations.

My did not get any better after software update, also the update did not fix the avc issue or the ability to change background colors still doesn't work, also the screen color changes from the new white back to the original orange constantly.

I went with this antenna and there is an adapter for the 14 + models. Its hidden in the fairing and has better reception than the whip IMO.

I don't use FM radio much, but I did notice for some reason that the reception improved a bit after I replaced the stock whip with the shorty whip - the original kept wanting to poke my chest as I walked around the bike ;-)

Did you delete the whip?

Yes sir whip is gone. I left the wiring and mount for the whip there and just bought a plug from HD for the hole.
