Why not put the phone in the slot on the fairing. I never have that issue???

I actually have the same issue with the 4.3 unit, which was particularly annoying during a recent five-hour run. Also, any time I received a text, it would stop the music. I disconnected other paired devices and rebooted the phone and that worked. After extended play (over three hours) and the phone got hot (I keep mine in the saddlebag), it started to act up again.

I have the iPhone 6 Plus, so maybe it's the phone. The sound quality of Bluetooth is great on these bikes, but I wish it was more stable.

iPhone 6 Plus with a case doesn't fit in the slot.

Turn off your Wi-Fi. They compete for resources and signal, my Ford Sync does the same until I turn off Wi-Fi, then bluetooth works fine.
