Default Technical question: exhaust head pipe replacement

I am replacing the head pipes on my bike.. do the oxygen sensors simply unscrew out.. or do I have to disconnect the sensor lead from the harness first?.. thanks.. 2015 Road Glide Special..

I twisted the wire with no issues, you can disconnect it if you want. Make note of wire color and location.

Easiest way is to pull side cover on right, unplug 02 leads. Note which is bottom and which is top. One is plug is gray and one is black. Take a picture with a phone if you need to. They have to plug back in to the right plugs. Clip the wire ties holding the leads to the frame, and take off the head pipe with the sensors still in the head pipe. Then once the pipe is on the floor or bench ect, remove the sensors.
Screw the sensors in to the bungs on the new head pipe and mount it, then fish the leads for the sensors back to the plugs under the side cover.

I would recommend disconnecting them from the harness and removing the sensors after removing the head pipe. The front and rear sensor are different so don't mix them up. Also, use a little anti seize compound when installing them in the new pipe.

I concur. Disconnecting the sensors from the harness is very easy and makes removing them from the header pipe a piece of cake. Be careful while handling the sensors when you remove them and make sure no anti-sieze gets onto the sensor portion.

On the header you will have a b & g, go by the plug color black and grey. And they can only plug into the proper receiving plug.
