I tried so many things I am not sure if I did that or not. At least I have some options. Thanks guys. This forum has cost me a small fortune in doo-dads for my bike but it is a useful tool.
The left toggle is set to scan instead of seek. Scan won't work on a connected device. Only on FM. I even suggested things like this be added to Vtwin App it is so common.
I don't but thanks for the answer.
Truthfully, there is so much to know that some of these details get forgotten.
So many people are quick to blame the radio for "issues" when in reality it's usually the user not reading the manual or unknowingly changing something, as in this post.
I'm not bashing anyone, but I never see radio posts titled "I may have done something wrong" or, "I can't figure this out"... it's always something like "the radio is broken", or "the GPS is worthless"... Haha, it's like Shark Week here... people smell blood and are quick to jump in the frenzy of "The Boombox is a piece of trash and has yet another issue". Again, I'm not singling out the OP here; the system changed the setting when he went to play a single song, and he didn't change it back to "Seek"... that can be frustrating if you don't know that you need to change that setting.
I'm sure there are some real problems that require replacement or an update, but from what I've read and seen, most issues are a result of not taking the time to understand how to use it, IMHO. It certainly isn't perfect and it takes time to learn its quirks, just like anything else that is complex.
I've had no issues with mine, I guess I'm just "lucky". ;-)
Ok first off let me say I am sure it is something I did, I don't know what I did. I didn't think it was too big of a deal to search for a specific song but apparently I screwed up somewhere. I looked at the owners manual and all I saw was the function of the left toggle. I knew it was a long shot but I looked anyway. I just tried the menu and saw no SEEK, only scan and shuffle that I thought would pertain to this. The scan works but only scans songs until I hit the toggle to stop it on a song. That is not the problem. I can't move to the next song like I could before. I tried letting it boot up with no jump drive attached and still no luck. I am going to cycle power on the bike when I get home.
I did have the issue you are experiencing OP... once while I was riding... not sure what I did either... but I pulled over and was able to change it back to Seek and the toggle resumed working. I think the trick is you have to be in the same media where the toggle is not working... for example, mine was when it was playing from the USB. I don't recall the exact steps I took, but I know I had to change it from within the Media menus, there are options for scan or seek I believe, and it was set to Scan. I changed it back to Seek and the toggle started working again.
