Well, Well, Well, my bike is on the recall list for the infamous fasteners. I was blasted before on another thread because I said they were not working properly. Would love to hear from those nay sayers.

NHTSA Recall Number: opens new window takes away from VIN lookup section> 15V-427 Recall Date: July 13, 2015
Manufacturer Recall Number: 0166
SUMMARY:
The saddlebag mounting receptacle, p/n 10900009 on some model year 2014 and 2015Touring family vehicles may not adequately secure the saddlebag to the motorcycle during use.
SAFETY RISK:
If this condition remains undetected, the saddlebag may become separated from the motorcycle while it is in motion, possibly creating a hazard for other motorists.
REMEDY:
Owners of the affected motorcycles will be asked to arrange service with an authorized Harley-Davidson dealer, who will confirm that the motorcycle is covered by this recall. If covered, the dealer will install the updated receptacle from the recall kit provided. This service will be provided at no charge to the customer.
RECALL STATUS: Recall INCOMPLETE
MANUFACTURER NOTES:
NA

A friend of mine had his came off and got damaged cost him few hundreds to get it repainted. He complained to the dealer but they blamed him for not securing it properly, may be he got to go back and raise some hell if his SGS Vin # is affected by the recall.

The culprit is the Receptacle and not the pin...
I remember a few months ago someone said a dealer told them that was the problem.

I swapped my stock H-D Dzus fasteners out for Monkey KnobZ. Best $20 and 10 minutes spent ever. Ok, maybe 2nd best. They're so much easier to line up and they hold tight. I was skeptical at 1st, worried that they'd back out. But after a few thousand miles, I've built complete confidence as they're holding tight and so much easier to line up. No relation to the inventor here... in fact I don't even recall how I stumbled across these. I was contemplating going the Brukus route, but these fixed three problems with one inexpensive solution.
