Default Searching for knowledge for slip-ons

So with the Rushmore hi ouput 103 what exactly would be a good deep sounding slip on? I will soon be going with the fuel moto stainless steel 2-1-2 header, air cleaner (still searching for which one) and PV2 and have no idea what slip on to go for. I want the deep sound and not tinny down low and mid but still be able to hear the radio on the SGS. Looking at the V&H hi output but hear the low end suffers performance. The CFR sound great but will be super loud on a long stretch, don't know much about the jack pot 4" slip ons but many say they sound good. Help me out here with your experience ....

Just installed the Fuel Moto 2-1-2 ceramic header and the Pro Touring 4.5 slip ons. Sounds awesome!

What made you decide to go with the 4.5"?

Reading reviews and talking with the guys at Fuel Moto. I also liked the Carbon Fiber ends of the exhaust. They have a great sound and look different than all the other exhaust available. I had Rinehart 3.5's on my Street Glide. Those sounded good too

I have V&H Monster Rounds and they are deep and radio friendly. I have also heard good things about the Jackpot 4" Dyno Tuned mufflers.

The RC Components 4" pipes are deep and mellow. Easy on the ears during recent trip. Many choices for end-caps and chrome is high quality. No lose of low end torque (per butt dyno).

I did the 4" Rinehart for the exact reason you stated and love them on my 14 SGS. The S&S power tune duals with a direct link tuner and dyno'd was just the ticket for me anyway. Low enough to hear radio when you need them to be but will rumble quite nicely when you want them to. Not well versed on the Fuel Moto stuff though...hope this helps.

I second the 4" Rineharts. I've had them on my 2014 Limited for about 1.5 years now. Nice deep rumble. Can still hear the stereo. No obnoxious high pitched bark. I still have the stock headers/cat.

You really need to hear bikes with different mufflers in person. One man's deep rumble is another man's too quiet or too loud.

If it were me, I would invest in the American Custom Exhaust stock muffler modification which allows for quick change to 3 different sounds, fair price good performance, and retain the factory quality mufflers. Also the Harley CVO and Screamn' Eagle slip ons have a good mellow rumble and don't "crack" on acceleration. Both these mufflers are too quiet with a catted header, and sound great with non-cat headers, and again the quality is tops. I do not drink the kool-aid, just fact from riding friends that have them.

I have the CFR's on my '14 Limited. I find they have a nice, deep, rumble/tone while cruising (can still hear the stereo and traffic). The only time they get really loud is when I go WOT...THEN they block out everything.
