Yes, the V & H Power Duals will help reduce the heat even further. I put the V & H power duals along with their Monster Squared slip-ons, an Arlen Ness Air Cleaner and the V & H Fp3 tuner and noticed a nice reduction in heat that was felt immediately.
O/p's bike is water cooled ! ........ Yours isn't ! Not apples to apples assessment. Water cooled heads runs cooler. It has been proven and talked about on the forum. Also, if the o/p changes his head pipes, he'd better be ready to shell out the bucks for a tuner. So my response is, no, they are not needed. My '15 FLHTKL runs much cooler than the '14 SG I traded in. And we still have 100 deg. days here in TX
I disagree 100%! I have a 2015 CVO StreetGlide, I live in VT where it gets in the upper 80's at best, and let me tell you what, I had so much heat that it was scorching my right leg. I installed V&H X-Pipe and I would say the heat has dissipated immensely! It is by far worth it and also make the bike run a lot cooler. The ONLY down side is needing a tuner. But the V&H tuner works very well with the new water-cooled heads and is reasonably priced!
Stay away from the V&H, unless they've changed their designs, there are those that will tell you that their O2 sensor bungs do not meet industry norms and don't put the sensors far enough in to the exhaust gas flow. They are a pretty pipe...not a performance pipe. Regret that I chose them before I knew enough.
What? Are you kidding? Mine fit perfect and so have the dozen others I have put on. It might be that people ordered the wrong year and still fitted them to there bikes. Its a proven fact that the X-Pipe produces more power then 90% of other pipes on the market. Unless you have worked on, built bikes, and have worked in this industry, you can't take at face value what "other" people tell you. V&H makes a top notch product and puts hours of testing prior to selling.
On another note, if the O2 bungs where such an issue how would you be able to tune the bikes on a dyno without getting proper readings?

Yup...not sure why or where MadIrish got his information. But IMHO...it is BS!
I have a full V&H system on my TriGlide. Power Duals (2:1:2) to Trike slip ons. I also have SE open A/C and SE 255 cams. I had a tune done using the SEPST...and it runs great!
There are opinions and facts. Opinions are like @$$ holes...everyone has one, and most of them stink.
I didn't say anything about "fit" as in fitting on the bike...no problems there...mine fit fine with no complaints on that score. Nor did I say anything about X pipes not generating more power.
I am talking solely about the bungs weldments being too thick and not putting the 02 sensors into the flow properly. The farther into the flow will get you an easier, more accurate tune. I know I struggled with mine.
I've had this from a very knowledgeable tuner active on this forum. The guy who tuned my bike also had some strong statements about them.
VTHog, I am glad your experience with heat is good...changing to that pipe did jack sh$t for me....my right leg still scorches. Its the jug for me, never was the cat. But again, this goes back to TriGeezer's informed statement about @ssholes and opinions.

I went with the Rush ceramic true duals and 4" Big Louie exhaust, Arlen Ness AC and PV tuner. I am very pleased with the heat reduction. I do agree on the 2x1x2 making more power. I would opt for the Fuel moto Jackpot next time. I rode a Wet head to Sturgis last year and it got pretty hot in traffic. My Road glide ran much cooler in traffic than the Limited
I just installed V&H power duals and oversize mufflers with an Arlen Ness big sucker and a SE pro tuner and it is very impressive to say the least, I did notice considerably less heat as well. 15 ultra limited.

What do you attribute the heat difference between the two bikes to ?
