This is normal by design since opposite brake force is being applied by 20% above 26mph I believe when choosing to use only one brake. Below the activation speed it does not work or stops working once dropping below this speed. Again, a normal response and somewhat weird for those of us that have this setup.
DB252, Where did you learn that the linked brakes, once engaged, "de-link" after dropping below 26 mph? I assumed that if one hits the rear brake in a panic stop above 25 mph, that both brakes would remain engaged until reaching a complete stop for safety reasons. I like dragging my rear brake through hard right turns, so if I start braking above 25 mph, I release the brakes momentarily when I drop to 25 mph and then just apply the rear brake for the drag. If you're correct, this maneuver is unnecessary. Does anyone have a definitive answer?

When You get some miles on,remember to check the left front brake pads. They are the first to wearout.Had to change fronts at 18,000.Almost to bare metal.Rears still look good at 29,800.

I had to get the EZ Brake lowered pedal before I even rode the bike.

According to the 2014 Technical Forum:
"When the linked braking has been initiated it will continue to function until the vehicle comes to a stop or the rider releases the brakes."

The 26mph-and-under thing sounds more like the way the ABS is supposed to work. Different facet of the system.
