Had that message on a previous bike; isn't that telling you that you are low on fuel? Owner's manual says it will display once your low fuel light is on and you have 10 miles left on fuel.

Low fuel light comes on at about 30 miles give or take. Lo Range comes on when you are less than 10 miles to empty. Seen it on mine a few times.

Guess you haven't been riding a lot other wise you will see that massage my be average twice a day on long rides. That telling you have less then a gallon left find a gas station ASAP.
