AAA premier, had to have my bike towed when the rear had a puncture a couple of years ago, then I used it to get a brothers bike home after he had wreck.
5 Tows annually. 1up to 200 miles, 4 up to 100 miles. $115 annual is cheap peace of mind. Also the Harley factory ESP includes towing assistance, it was explained to me you could in fact double dip if you already had AAA.
I use the Road America plan through HOG. Unlimited towing and depending on the situation, I get hotel/food reimbursement. You can also have fuel brought to you if you run out at no extra cost except for the cost of the fuel itself. I have the $29.99 per year plan, but they have several options for your needs. Best part is it is not a reimbursement plan for towing, it is fully covered. Just request road assistance from HOG and they take care of the rest.
Well After my last break down less than a month ago & < 700 miles, my Start,Rumble,Rumble Dead condition has come back 130 miles from home & with the wife . Was going through an intersection & it just died & would not restart & stay running.
Called HOG RSA & they basically told me to pound sand because I used my rescue this year, which is Total
, because I just renewed for 2 years as it was about to expire when I broke down last time. I'm going to have some words for them on Monday. Well needing to get home tonight, I had it towed back to the dealer that worked on it 3 weeks ago for the low price of $381. Last time dealer replaced ignition coil, so we will see what they find this time.
This is not very confidence inspiring at all & my wife is really not happy about it. Bike has < 2500 miles & has left me stranded 2 x's, it really starting to suck the enjoyment right out of it. I was contemplating getting a new Fat Boy, but that idea has
I'll keep you posted as to what they found this time.

That's the one I'm looking into. Oh & I called HOG today, said nothing they could do, so I told them cancel my membership & send me a full refund because I'm not paying for it. I also gave my CC a heads up that I will disputing this charge if not refunded in the 2 weeks I was told.
Don't know if anyone has mentioned it - but I use AAA, they work all over the country and generally have never given me any problems. Hugely better than the alternatives (except perhaps insurance addons)
Hope they find your bug (coming from one whose bike has spend countless weeks in the shop as a component replacement testbed)
Yep AAA RV here, saved my arss when my Throttle Position sensor croaked.
Hopefully the OPs bike threw codes before it croaked.
Nope, no codes seen. It just won't stay running now. Starts rumble rumble dead.

Yeah, I see AAA being far more versatile as if the world stopped spinning & my VTX left me stranded or any other vehicle I happen to be in is covered, not just the Harley.

I respect that. In my case I only need the coverage when I am on the road, away from home, so I would prefer a tow to the nearest dealer to get it fixed and back on the road.
