It's pretty easy to adjust the clam shell so it touches the grip and adds resistance.
I know it's not what you want to do, but most do this, including me, and it doesn't hurt and never will hurt a thing.

When you use aftermarket bars this is usually an unwanted feature! Gets too tight.

Thanks for the info.

I guess I'll give that a shot. If it works, it'll be great - especially since it's free!

Maybe a large rubber o ring between the grip and housing would help.

Now, that's a good idea! I'll give it a try.

Many thanks,

JP

I just bought some o rings from Home Depot today and tried a few until I had zero side play and not bind to cause any throttle sticking issues. Only a $2.27 fix with Home Depot o rings made by danco

What size were they? Thanks.

I believe it was a #17 as the first one I tried was an #18 and that was a bit to snug for my liking. They also have a few assortment packs. Ultimately depends on your bar and grip combo so it's trail and error to find the one that works best.

Same here. That's the most used button on mine, by far!

Trying to hold a constant throttle setting for any length of time is damn near impossible, for me anyway.

I would have thought that by now somebody would have come up with a clean and elegant aftermarket part to take care of this little PITA issue.

Any of you home-based engineers seeing this? The guys who came up with the rocker lockers and rockout shims that eliminate that annoying valve-train noise, maybe?
