Question Add a little drag to the throttle?

Ever since I got my '15 Limited, I've thought it would be nice to add just a small amount of drag to the throttle so that it would feel more like it was a cable system and would be easier to keep it in one position when going over bumps.

The only way I can see to do it is move the switch housing in a little to cause it to drag on the grip, but I assume that it would wear down pretty quick, and that isn't really the direction I'd want to go, anyway.

It's a small thing to be sure, and not really a complaint, but I think it would be nice to have the option of adding a little adjustable drag to the throttle for those who want it.

I'm with you on this, I really miss the throttle tension screw that have been on all my previous bikes. I like the throttle to have no or very little return spring, always have.

Not sure if you have a tuner on your bike or not, but if you do alot of the jerky throttle response when hitting bumps can be adjusted out. Mine seemed to get worse after installing PYO Monkey bars (whether due to different wrist angle or more sensitive throttle sensor I installed). I called Jamie at Fuel Moto and he sent me a different map that seems to have helped minimize the effects of bumps quite a bit although not completely gone. Good Luck with yours.

I actually keep my gloved hand close/touching in contact with the throttle mounting hardware for a little friction.

With the Powervision I believe it's called throttle blade control. The actual amount of throttle the engine sees for a given throttle position. For example, slam the throttle wide open at 1000 rpm & the bike will only see something like 25%. The settings are adjustable & you can use this to smooth things out. I think it only works up to about 2500 rpms or so then it's a straight 1 to 1.

I know the FP3 has a throttle progressivity setting. You can even make a custom setting, but I haven't played with that yet. Good luck.

No tuner on mine. I wish there was a simple way to just add a small amount of physical friction, but I can't come up with an idea.

I usually lay my right index finger on top of the brake lever to keep steady throttle. Even just going down the road. It's a habit done for decades. Find it's kinda necessary now 'cause the 120R responds RIGHT NOW to throttle inputs. A little resistance would be nice.

Yeah, I do the same thing, not that I want it to become a habit!

Sooner or later, some aftermarket company should come up with a solution (I hope!).
