Default Fairing Mounted Daymaker Driving Lights

Well quite the scary day. So the new mounts that come for the fairing to mount the daymaker LED Driving lights comes with a drill guide for the small hole, yeah I said small hole. So then the pucker factor goes up 10 fold as you have to drill a 5/8 hole into your fairing on both sides. Let me just tell you that was really hard to do. I was really worried I was gonna screw up my fairing. Anyway there done and they work. WHEW

You have to buy a separate harness for it if you don't want them on all the time. I bought the switch that goes on the dash for it. Had them on my RGS before I traded it in so I just moved them to the new bike.

No offense and maybe I shouldn't open my trap in the first place, but why up there and drill through the fairing like that? I had an '11 RGU and the only dislike I had was fast riding at night in the twisties ... always had to jack off the high beam switch to see further in the turns and it still wasn't enough sometimes. I wanted the Motolights that mounted on the forks or fender, but pricey so never did it. I did buy some cheapies and was going to make my own bracket, but never got around to it. Just wondered why you didn't go that way, at least the lights would turn with your forks then ... just saying, not picking on what you did. I know more light can never hurt, but why not have them pointed where you're going at all times if you're gonna do it?

Unless you're talking about turning the bars at 1-3 mph like in a parking lot, whenever you turn left at speed your bars are actually turning right and vice versa.
Counter steering... so having the lights attached to the frame actually helps - like in a car. We are talking millimeters here but yeah.
