Love my 16 Limited, but not in the summer. Catalytic converter gets so hot that it's unbearable. Of course I'm in the desert where we're hitting 108 everyday but anything over 90 turns it into a cooker. My girl won't get on it, and she's says I'm f***ing stupid for buying a bike you can't ride in the summer. I know, swap out the header but not a fan of giving up my warranty. Thinking about trading it.
Let me say I bought one because I wanted to get back on a Harley. I am a little "scared" about reliability. I dont think anyone can deny that they have their fair share of problems. I ride. I bought this bike on 4/25/16 and Im pushing 7k miles on the bike.
Now .. When I decided to go for a new Harley .. the "Rushnmore" features had absolutely no impact on my decision. Not even in the slightest. I didnt get all giddy ... "Oooo 103 ci water cooled" Why ? You may ask ..
Because this technology has been around for at least 10 years. My 02 VTX 1800 is water cooled. There is really nothing else special about the Rushmore's other those two enhancements. The LEDs are a flop. They are bright but dont light up the road. .. we can read here that some, including me, are turning them upside down. They also market the hell out of the "Boom" system that also has its fair share of problems.
I dont have buyers remorse. Nor do I hate my Hog. Im not bashing. I love my Ultra ... However, I am totally honest with myself and I'm speaking fact.
So ... again, No I dont hate my Rushmore. But it really isnt anything "special".

Changing to a different exhaust system will not void your warranty.
Any service claims during the warranty period will be honored, unless it can be shown that the exhaust system caused the failure.
Mine is now 10 months old, and has 17,000 miles on it. Zero problems. And the dealer installed the cat-free Vance & Hines Pro Pipe.
MUCH cooler riding, and it hits 100 all summer long here.
Love mine its a 14 limited with 11000. Paid 17500 for it in march and have taken it on a 400 mile road trip. Best bike I ever owned and I have owned some bad bikes.
love my 14 SGS! Only a few things I don't care for, like not being able to pair a sena to the HU for radio and command functions... HD really didn't think that one through. Seriously, who uses a CB anymore!? and the floorboards are a little short and a little to far inward but I had that issue with my 12 SG as well.
The 15 RGS was my first Harley, having come off a GoldWing (2yrs, new) and a Kawa900 cruiser preceding that one (3mos, old). These have the most pleasant/smiles-per-mile 15k I've put on any bike (50k total miles in the last 3-4yrs since I've been a motorcyclist). No regrets, the "happiness" has been worth the high cost of ownership ($350+ 5k services, couple of warranty/quality issues)

Lol! I was perfectly happy with a car I had. And thought the new model with an extra 150h/p was going to change my life forever. Well, it did alright. My bank account will never be the same. Lol........sucks.

When I first got into motorcycling 3-4yrs ago, believe it or not a driving factor was "lower cost of operating" than a car.... and it was, with a used Kawa900 cruiser... but not any mooore
