Perfect, of course not, what is. I've been riding real motorcycles since I was 13, and as of today that amounts to 48 years. These new touring Rushmore Harleys (in spite of the marketing poo-bah) have in fact moved into the 21st Century - my bonafide opinion.

I wanted a new touring bike for the last 3 years, HD kept bumping up their prices with nothing new to show for it. Then came Rushmore. Rides better, stops better, better audio. I'm not sure what to say when people say they can't tell the difference. I guess good for them, the pre-Rushmore bikes are now a steal.

Owned a 2007 Heritage Softail. Loved it to death. Rode it for 120k.

Then - traded it in for the 2014 Street Glide Special.

Since day 1 - never looked back. Loved my Heritage, still do. But - LOVE my new Street Glide. I think these Rushmore's are damned good. I commute 90 miles per day and 60 of that is lane splitting.

So yeah - they perform - and I love the bike. Stops better than my Heritage EVER did - and has the acceleration I need to get in and out of tight spots.

I hear a lot of people complaining about these bikes - and honestly, to me, I don't see it.

Because the zerk fitting didn't allow proper lubrication, you'll dump a whole tube of grease into the neck which only made a mess of everything when riding in extreme heat. Yes, you take apart the steering but it's really not that difficult once you've done it.

Right now I have my 2011 RGU and I am not unhappy with it but I was very happy on the demo ride I went on with the new models, I bought this bike used and had the the thought that when the new RGU came out I would go for it, that thought was squashed when the the ultra did not come out in 2015, and I was not plopping down 40 grand for a CVO. Now the 2016's are here and I am again tempted but I am seeing a mix of feedback all over on the good and bad over the new and old.

So if you got a redo would you pull the trigger on that new one again or would you stick with the one you had?
Long story short is the only down side is money. If you have the funds then buy the 16 RGU.

Go visit several dealerships on the same day if possible, this way you retain the experience from bike to bike. IMO you'll find the Rushmore's are hands down the best choice. Good luck and happy shopping!!
This is what I did for ALL BRANDS that carried a bagger with a fairing. Guess what, I bought the HD. Not 'cause it was the cheapest or the fastest, but for fit, finish, quality, performance, and comfort it beat the rest. Yeah, it was like $1-4K MORE than the other "comparable" bikes, but the other bikes had some "cheap" stuff on them the SGS did not have. And the others didn't have the dealer network, or aftermarket parts availability.

I think they are the best product HD has introduced in years. It was the only bike that could get me to trade my Goldwing for a 2016 Limited. This is my first Harley and I love it. I am more comfortable on it than I was my Goldwing. Yeah, it shakes a little at idle, but it is a Harley and what other motorcycle will give you a massage at every stop light!

I've had both a '10 FLHTK and a '12 FLHTCUSE7, and I traded in a '14 K1600GTL on my '16 FLTRU. This is not only the best bike Harley's ever built, but it's a good replacement for the Beemer.

The Rushmore bikes are game-changers.

I had 05 EGC that i loved but was getting up there in miles (65k) I debated on just doing the 95 bb and cams until i went to a demo ride in September and rode all the Rushmore's and that was all it took. The ride,6 speed, braking system, that 103 HO(awesome)and the handling sold me. Major improvements over my current bike. Bought my 16 SG mid October and love it cant ever see going back to a pre-rushmore

That's right, it's a feature. I found out that the handlebar vibrations cause my Fit-Bit to count steps, like 16000 or so in a hundred miles. My exercise metrics automatically feed to a website that calculates a discount on my health insurance premiums based on my level of exercise. So I'm really liking the shake at idle thing!
