I just installed quick release kit on my 2015 Limited, the rotating cam locks are almost impossible to turn to lock or unlock, is there a adjustment I overlooked when installing kit?
Spray wd-40 or similar on cam locks and mounting posts. It does not last but really helps. What I do is spray it on a paper towel and wipe it on so it's not excessive. I just wipe them a little about every time I put on/off my detachables.
There is an adjustment. If you look at the plastic barrels they have a couple tick marks on them. The plastic barrels are actually a little ovular and not true round.
-Loosen the bolts holding the barrels
-Attach your tour pack and rotate the barrels while trying to lock the cams (try to lock, pivot pack up, rotate barrels 45 degrees keep tick marks facing the same way on both barrels, attempt to lock again)
-The cams will be easier in a spot than others
-Lock the cams where they work
-Re-tighten the bolts holding the plastic barrels.
Barrels will want to spin as you tighten the bolt, that's the hard part....keeping them where you really want them
Mine still lock stiffly on the easier section, but that is good in my mind. If the pack gets loose and starts to vibrate 20,000 miles down the road, then repeat and tighten the barrels to a spot the gives you a stiffly locked cam again.
[QUOTE=pacemakertom;14744172]When you went to detachable, what did you do with the bundle of wire on left side.
Thanks

Zip ties right under the side cover.
My locks were stiff to turn also. I removed the torx screws that hold the lock levers, used a dry lubricant on the shoulder of the screws and lever, and re-assembled.
Works great! Adjusting the bushings, as stated above helps when locking in.
My 4pt dock on my road king is super tough to lock as well. There was mention in the instruction the assemble the barrels with the thicker flange either in or out depending on the fit. Mine is still difficult.
