No cruise while autotuning?
We have no problem in replacing a defective unit, but proving that the unit is having a wireless connectivity issue is the greater task. 99% of the time, connectivity issues are a result of competing for bluetooth priority, i.e. your entertainment system or having another device that was previously paired, connect before the device you are currently attempting with does. Send me an email direct to cneely@vanceandhines.com and I will help you out.
As for your AutoTune question, we greatly discourage using the cruise control. This will only populate a very small area of the grid, thus negating the purpose of AutoTune. Also, the tech stating that cruise control will not work, I believe that was a miscommunication, and I apologize for that. Sometimes technical phone conversations can be lost in semantics. The FP3 does not control the cruise control, that is a calculation within the BCM (Body Control Module). Which the FP3 does not communicate with, or know how to. There are many prerequisites prior to using the cruise control, wheel speed minimum, TPS minimum etc... Also intermittent connection issues can also cause this but usually noticed before you even get out of your driveway.
All AutoTune does is turn off your Accel enrichment, Decel-Enleanment and flash the AFR table all to 14.45. It does not change anything within the tables of the ECM.
Hope this helps.

It is possible the connection issue was Memory leaks within the phone when you are maxed out on RAM, but that is pretty rare. Depending on what device your have iOS or Android, I recommend wiping the cache partition (android) and clearing out any unused "idle" apps. Just reboot iOS.
The key is Applying. Applying helps narrow down your AutoTune much faster and build a better map. AutoTune only has the capability of adjusting 15% within each session, thus if your current map is 35% off (rare but not unheard of), it would require 3 sessions to get you where you need to be.
