Is there a way to install real cruise control like the Turing bikes have on a Softail. My buddy has a new Slim but would love to have cruise like my King has, can it be done? Thanks.
Much cheaper would be something like a cruise buddy or cruise mate. One's about 50 bucks the other 90 or so. They are basically a lever that replaces the throttle lock star nut that has to be turned a bunch of times with a lever that only needs about a 45 degree throw to engage and still allows the throttle to move when engaged. That way you can easily back the throttle off if you come up on traffic or something. The main difference between the two as far as I can tell is that the more expensive one doesn't require any drilling. Short of going like the other poster said and laying down 1000+ the two I mentioned are pretty much the best options I've seen.

I assume the softails have the star under the throttle control . That is your cruise control. You can by adapters for it too.
Thanks for the info, we knew about all the others, but he was hoping there was a kit or a way to install the HD cruise.
We did see that $1200 one but it's not that impotent to him. He has a 13 red Slim and he absolutely loves it, I think it's a very cool looking ride my self.
I saw this on a guy's heritage when I was at Thunder Beach in Panama City Beach a year ago. I did not talk with the owner but did look at it. Pretty cool set up.
