Adding waypoints to active route

I have done the most recent upgrade to my Boom 6.5 system. Noticed last night that if a waypoint (think gas station) is added to a route that is open/active that the "distance to via" does not reflect that addition. If the waypoint is added BEFORE "Go" is selected then the "distance to via" is correct. Does this mean that waypoints can't be added "on the fly" so to speak??!! I really don't want to have to remount my zumo to this bike but.................

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but yes, a waypoint can be added on the fly. I do it all the time. The gps will ask if you want to replace your destination or add as a waypoint.
