Just a heads up... I had forgot about it since the fall, but was talking to a buddy today and remembered that at the end of last season a friend had pointed out that the front plug wire on his Rushmore had almost worn all the way through the rubber from hitting the tank. I had checked mine and sure enough it was in bad shape too. A few others around here turned out to have the same problem. It's worth a look!
couple of earlier threads regarding this pointed it out to me. Took mine to the dealer and they moved it for free. Should be a recall to replace the worn wires.
Sorry, I hadn't seen any threads on it, but hopefully someone new catches it now. I'm getting mine replaced in the spring under warranty and they'll figure something out to keep it off the paint.
Mine is slightly worn. When I brought it in they said Hd wouldn't warranty it until it is through the rubber. In the meantime they manipulated it a bit to give a little clearance. After the first vibration it probably ended up right back in the same spot.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll check mine tomorrow.
