On the same topic, what LED replacements would fit in a stock 14 RK halogen headlight? Too may H numbers....lol. Also, in looking at the Sirius website, there are several generations of lights....is any one better than the others? Who is Cree?

If you want to do replacement bulbs these are what you want:
http://www.fuelmotousa.com/i-2112160...CUSTOM%20FLTRX

Or you can try one of the others like Sirius or Trucklite. I am fairly certain Sirius makes the HD Daymaker. I would go with the reflector headlight over the projector.

The new JW Speaker EVO 2 is 2 generations newer than the Daymaker your bike comes with (made by Speaker). They are suppose to be a huge improvement. Amazon has them for roughly $275.

Thanks for the reply, and I apologize up front for the uninformed question, but I am assuming that the stock RK headlight with halogen bulbs is a ... projector? If so, why would a completely new assembly be preferred?

No worries man.

This is the HD Projector LED bulb

This is the reflector model:

Some folks don't like the way the projector style clips the light on the sides. The reflector style is more like a regular headlight and projects the light a lot better. With the Fuel Moto bulb, you keep your stock bucket and reflector assembly and simply replace the bulb. The Daymakers are $400-600, while the bulb is only $50.

Your headlight is basically just a reflector with a halogen bulb. The reflector LEDs have multiple bulbs spread across the reflector.

Thanks : )

So, what I have read over the past couple of days is that depending upon the LED solution there may, or may not be a problem with daylight visibility, like from adjacent lanes or cross traffic. My question is if that is still the case with replacement LED bulbs installed in the stock halogen headlight assembly. And does it depend on the type or manufacturer of LED replacement bulb......

Sorry for the long note.

We put the Fuel Moto bulbs in a friend of mine's 13 Road Glide Custom and they are as bright if not brighter than my stock Daymakers on a RGS.

When I first got my RGS I was in the habit of running the Hi-Beams in the day time, but quickly had to change that. The guys I rode with, said they were too bright behind them and couldn't see anything behind me.

So, with the reflector style or replacement bulb I would say it is not as much of an issue because the light is being reflected in more directions than with the original projector style LED headlight.

Crazy question; I have a Daymaker Projector on my '14 Limited and I HATE it. It is, by far, the worst headlight I've had on a motorcycle due to the extreme horizontal cut off in the beam, which leaves corners a black abyss. I want to upgrade the headlight to something actually made for a motorcycle and not an F-150, but I don't want to screw up the looks of my bike.

Does anyone have a Reflector headlight that I could borrow for a few days to try it out, to see if it will light up the corners? I'd either send it back to you if it doesn't fix the problem or buy it outright if it does.

Also, as a side note, I added CD Rings LED blinkers on my bike because I had several friends tell me that my Projector headlight cannot be seen during the day, unless at exactly the perfect angle - it essentially looks like I'm running without my headlight on. The CD Rings don't throw much light but they did make a huge difference in daytime visibility.

Check out the Cirius or Trucklite reflector style headlights. Much cheaper than the HD model and I am pretty certain Cirius makes the HD one.

The CD rings do help in the fog though.
