Default "Smart Speller".......

On the 6.5 Boom there is a feature when entering information called Smart Speller. Can this feature be turned off? I know it has it's value as a shortcut but a lot of times it eliminates what I actually want to enter in the navigation address fields.

Actually, with the "funny...honey" and "fart smeller" replies I figured it's a moot point to ask that question here so I let it go. I bet the dealer may not know either.
ChromeSpark, if you find out something let me know and if I do I'll .........

I cannot answer the OP's question, however, I always enter the Zip-code first.

The smart speller gives you available options. If you spell something that would not be available with the smart speller than the results will come back empty.

As far as I know, you can't turn it off.

But as mentioned above, you can probably find what your looking for if you adjust the way your entering a search.

Think of it like this: You want to narrow the search results returned as much as you can, to make it easier to find things.
Example: 1120 Main Street
Well, there are probably thousands of 1120 Main streets (even in your own state).

So, Start with a ZIP code
That will force the navigation database to only search within that zip code.
Once you enter the zip code, the state and city are usually filled in for you.
With city, state, and zip filled in you next enter the street name which will be much easier now.
Now you have it narrowed down, and you should be able to enter the correct street number.

I was trying to enter an exact street address this past weekend........Entered in this order.

1. Zip Code
2. State
3. City
4. Street address.........This is where it was frustrating. As I was trying to enter the street number, it kept trying to point me to other street addresses. I could not enter the exact street number I needed as the system felt it knew better.

I finally figured screw it and just let it pick a street number I thought was close. It worked out but was very frustrating to say the least.
