+1 on what Tim said above. Make sure you have the correct file. Are you sure the radio isn't out of the CVO? You may wish to try that file too.
There are 2 files in the zip, one is a text file that just says what version it is. The other is an iso image, that is what gets copied to the flash drive formatted in FAT32, I do not name the drive. Do not copy the folder, only the iso file to the base of the flash drive. Turn the bike on, wait for the radio to come fully on, hit accept then plug the flash drive in. It will then read the iso and ask if you want to upgrade from version x.x.x to y.y.y
I formatted the flash to fat32, downloaded the file for 6.5 (non-cvo) shows one large file and a small "text" file for 77kb. I have unzipped both tried, and it did not work, tried to unzip only the large file still says corrupted.
The dealer told me I have a defective unit, and maybe I do, they could not upload the most recent one.
I had another dealer tell me to try the 1.18 first he thinks you have to do each one? I have read on here that all prior updates should correct the old issues.
That is a good question chopper man, I do not know what the radio is out of as I purchased it online and they just said new 2015. Thanks for the info on the "text" file, I will not use it.
Try upgrading the unit to the next update instead of going from 1.7 directly to 1.9.

Greatsteaks; Any idea where I could find prior updates. I searched HD and all I found was the most recent one.
