Thanks to both of you however nothing is still working. I tried the 1.7 on 2 different drives, tried the CVO update, and every time I plug a flash in it says not compatible or file is corrupted?
Bummer. Got anyone else around you that has the 6.5GT that can put your drive in and see if they can read it? Even if they are already on te same or higher software version it will still read it and say do you want to update from x.x.x to x.x.x? I'd sure try that before condemning the radio. You should also reach out to the seller and let them know you are having issues after a dealer install.
I do know one guy that has a 2016, I am starting over using my mac to see if anything changes, good thing I am single been at this for 3 hours! Time for a cold one...I did reach out to the seller, and they refunded me full price, told me to keep the radio. So at least I don't have to pay to remove it, everything else works except Nav. I really appreciate you, and everyones help today. This is a great place to learn new stuff!
Another idea.... Have you tired doing a factory reset of the radio?
Here are the steps from the service manual. Looks like the Pre-calibration reset is the one you want.
1. Turn IGN OFF. Wait15 seconds. 2. Press and holdpower/mute button. Turn IGN to ACC. 3. Continue to presspower button for 2 seconds after the WARNING screen isdisplayed. 4. Release power/mutebutton and accept warning.
