If you really read that patent and look at the artwork it is quite far away from where HD is today with that design.
Doesn't matter, there's still no link keeping the rear of the engine/transmission from moving laterally.

You forgot, "for me". For me, though there's less of an issue, it's still a big issue given the way I ride and the roads I ride on. You should be very happy that you don't need to spend $400 to fix a problem you're not experiencing. Those of us who do experience wobble think the True-Track's a Godsend.
Thanks everyone for the very informative information. My first mod shall be the rear suspenders due to British roads being in a bad state, I must look like a kangaroo on acid as all I do is bounce up and down out of the seat. The bike does not like to cross the white lines built up on the centre of the road. she does get quite out of shape/weave, but soon returns it just have to give her a bit of time to regain herself. (I have opened a new thread regarding suspension).
I went out with the intent of trying to induce the weave, my conclusion was that I did get a minor sideways movement with a feeling of a flattened tyre. Therefore I can see that a weave with poor suspension would give problems and given the surface of the road which may not be the best the bike would try to track/correct it self therefore magnifying the isolations.
Perhaps the "wobble" has something to do with the bikes being lowered. I have a Ultra Limited with stock suspension and it handles great. I would think with the lowered bikes you would be dragging parts before the wobble would hit.
My wife and I have ridden many 500+ miles days loaded two up with no wobble issues. Coming from a past loaded with many BMW's and a brief stint road racing I can push the big Ultra pretty hard. We've been well over 100 on the freeway and I found it to be very stable.
Maybe some of the wobble has to do with body position and weight transfer when entering the turns. Gotta be in the right place on the saddle if you're going to ride these bikes aggressively through the twisties.
