With the unlimited choices and styles out there I cannot figure out what is best.
I have a 14 Limited with stock handle bars and I'm wanting to purchase a decent drink holder, something that can accommodate the usual water bottle or 20oz soda bottle at minimum. I've looked at Kurys Basket which I like but cant figure out what style is correct but I'm open to all ideas.
I have the RAM cup holder. I have the double ball mount on the clutch bracket. I can put on and take off as needed. I don't need a cup holder everyday so I only put it on long runs. I have been using RAM mounts on everything for years and I only need to buy the gimbal Cup holder part. $15
Ok, do you want a pretty one or one that works?
I've had several and the all around best setup for me is as follows.
Get the Kuryakin model that does not have the basket, it comes with a mount, chrome ring and a stainless mug. The ring will of course hold the mug but it will also hold the tapered cup ( 20oz) from places like McDonalds and the like. Then buy yourself a Butler mug and ring, have two choices, 20oz and a 34oz. I have both and use the larger in hot weather and for longer touring. You will need a longer shoulder bolt from any hardware store.
When using the Butler mug you can fill with ice water or leave the top off and just set the water bottle inside.
This system works the best for me and the Butler Mug is hands down the best mug for keeping drinks cold, ice will last for hours. Not the prettiest, but one of the best.
