Sorry, because of your actions you are sent to buy a goldwing for punishment.... LOL. Sorry again, hope you get the bike you want and have many, many days of great rides!

It does matter what the members of this forum think, otherwise I would not have wasted my time to ask the question. I've solicited opinions on how to quantify a "smoking deal", and the easiest way to do that is to solicit opinions and experiences from those on a Harley motorcycle forum, it's that simple.
Sorry you found my reply so devoid of value, howeverr it is worth exactly exactly what you paid for it.

If I wanted to be a d*ck, I'd recommend you man up and buy your bike without having to ask complete strangers for validation on how "smoking" a deal you have on the table. I'd also likely take a shot at you for still owing that much money on a 6 year old bike.

But I don't want to be a d*ck so I won't mention any of that stuff.

Your current deal is the smokingest deal ever, and you'd be an absolute fool if you don't jump on it.

Since you found it so irrelvant, and I'm so devastated by your reply, I formally retract my reply and now hope you NOT enjoy your new bike.

That better?

Lighten up, Francis.......

So here is where I'm at with the dealer right now on a black 2016 Limited. I'm trading in my 2010 that I owe $10,200 on. Based upon KBB and NADA, that's pretty much a wash.

$23839 OTD with Slip Ons and 15% off any accessories.

With MSRP of $26399 that is about $3500 off sticker with a price of around $22885 with taxes around $950. I gotta say that seems like a pretty good price to me?
$3500 off sticker with a set of $700ish slip ons and you need to come here and validate that this is a good deal?

Mmmmm k den.

Don't know anything about your trade-in, such as miles and condition, but a Smokin' Deal to me would be somewhere around a $22150. Approximate cost of the new bike w/slip-ons is $21700. Add a minimal profit of $300, the price would be $22k. Trade-in Value of your bike has to be around $11k, which is less than NADA or KBB. That's a difference of $11k. You said the taxes would be $950 (it would probably be less with this deal, as tax is usually based on the trade difference). So, now you'd be at $11950. What you owe has nothing to do with the deal, but since you are including your pay off of $10200 in the OTD price, the total comes to $22150.

In FL, the dealers charge a bs Dealer Fee, but you didn't mention that in your deal, so maybe there isn't any. If there is, it would have to be added to the $22150. If there is a dealer fee of, say $750, you'd be up to $22900.

To me, that's a Smokin' Deal. Doable, yes. Probable, maybe not, but you asked for a Smokin' Deal & I think if you shop around, you can do better than your $23839 price.

As an HD Dealer, I'm pretty sure you can't afford to work on a $300.00 profit. If it were me, I'd rather take that new bike, put Hillarys picture on it and sell hits with a sledgehammer. I would make a lot more money than selling it for your numbers.

My goodness...they are out in force, if you would apply any common sense to your thought process. I didn't have this deal when I first asked the question.

Again, your poor assumptions. I'm not the original owner, I bought the bike in 2013. Thanks for your concern of my finances, but.....I got it.

And for the record..below are your original comments to my very specific question of what most here think a 'smoking deal' is (not my words, just what I've read on the forum).

1. If you like the deal go for it.
*no value, doesn't address the question, I'm asking for specific feedback on what is in the realm of possibility as far as price goes.

2. Doesn't matter what the rest of us think.
*well, yeah it kind of does to some extent, otherwise I wouldn't have spent the time to ask the question.

3. Shop it around to a couple other dealers if you want.
*fair enough, but again still does not address the question.

4. Trading is easier than selling to a private party but probably costs you a few bucks, time and inconvenience- dealer will profit on the new bike and reselling your used one.
*again, not germane to my question. I didn't ask any opinions on if I should sell outright or trade in my current bike.

5. You can also counter their offer by offering a price a few grand less, worse they can do is say no, or counter.
*again, doesn't address my specific question.

6. There are also things like asking for free service, bling, etc....
*minimal benefit to the overall question.

7. Make your best deal and get to riding that new Limited, I think you'll really like it.
*Once again, I was asking for input from the community as to what they felt a deal is in order to compare to what I was seeing. Of course I'd like it otherwise I wouldn't be considering it.

Called my dealer and told him I wanted a deal on an Ultra Limited. While I was watching Wrath of Khan, he and a few salesmen ride onto my driveway on every color the 2016 Limiteds come in. I told him I wanted the purple so he left one salesman on the purple bike and told the others to put an egg in their shoe and beat it.

My salesman, (Uncle Harley according to my grandson) said, “Mike, what do we have to do to get you to buy this bike?” I told him I do my best thinking at Ruth Chris with a 40oz T-bone on my plate with all the trimmings. Sure enough he brings my wife and I there and after a few martinis and the steak dinner, we hammer out a deal: I get the bike with a stage 2, Road Zeppelin seat, backrest, a and a dealership T-shirt for $6000 off list price. Best of all, I have -10% financing. Yep, my note goes down every month.

The morning I was to pick it up, the limousine arrived at my home at 8:30am and had me at the dealership for 9am. The bike was ready to go with all the trimmings. My salesman shook my hand and slipped something into it at the same time. I’ll be damned if it wasn’t tickets for the wife and I to go on a 7 day Disney cruise! He laughed and said, “didn’t see that coming, did you?” As I drove off, I was asking myself what I’m going to ask you guys. Did I get a good deal?
