I am adding a new set of bars and plan to change out the riser bushings. Any suggestions on the "best" ones to use? HD has them but also several aftermarket sources. Polyurethane as most show but is there other bushings that are better? I only want to replace one time. Going with 12" KST's on a 16 SGS.
When I switched out the bars for wild one chubbys, I used the HD polyurethane kit from the dealer. A little more expensive than other brands, but convenient for me to drop by the dealer to get them. They went in really easy and the vibration in the bars is significantly reduced. I've had them on for maybe 1500 miles or so and no issues. I think there was a torque sequence in the instructions to allow them to seat properly.
Anyone know of any decent write-up's/how to's on replacing the bushings? Google searches for me showing a lot of older/non-fairing bikes. Clutch side of my bars seems to have a lot of vibration. Picked up a set of poly's at my local dealer today.
Edit: Decent Youtube I found for changing the bars, most of which is needed to do the bushings.
I replaced them when I did the bars on my '02 RK. I honestly didn't feel much different. If anything, I just felt more vibrations through the bars. I elected not to change them on my SGS when I put the Monkey Bars on.
