Ok went out to get a real look at the bike. here are some new things that I am not sure I like.

Exhaust

with the saddle bags off of the bike, I noticed that they have made a BIG change to the exhaust. Both ports are now connected at the muffler. Before you could just take the mufflers off separately. Now you have to take the muffler off the header pipe and you have to take off the connecting pipe.

The shock adjustment

The **** adjustment is VERY stiff and you can't really get a turn on it because of where its located. You can do it but its going to take a minute to adjust it. I was able to turn it. I gave up because my hand was getting sore.

Saddle bag connection.

Its not a half turn bolt anymore. It is threaded. its not a big deal, it just takes a little more effort to remove the bags than it did before.

there is a rubber seat on the bottom of the bag now. I guess it stops vibration in the bag and it can prevent the bag from cracking on the bottom. I had not heard of that being an issue ever, but that's the only thing that I can guess for a purpose. thinking about it, it makes sense to me a little. with the connection being threaded, it may help the threads on the bolt from getting messed up with vibrations (although there is very little vibration)

so far that's the only thing that seems odd to me about the bike.

Congrats on the newer than the new bike you had. Did you trade up? What was the incentives on trading and buying?
I like everything that I saw and rode during our first demo day here in G-burg. In the market in a new or looking at the floodgates of Rushmore coming across the used bikes market as we speak...Congrats.

A pic of the exhaust would be great too. I can't quite visualize that. Are you saying that slip ins won't work like they used to.

Congrats on the new bike. I would trade my 15 limited on a 17 RGS if I could get a good deal but they're too hot right now and no dealers down here are willing to make an attractive offer. It kind of reminds me when the 07's came out and everyone went ape-chit over the new engine and transmission. I'm going to wait it out for a year or two. Enjoy your new ride.

I did see the bottom of the bags, i don't know why those pointy rubber things were there and thought it might annoy me, so i already ordered a set of saddle bag liners from harley. problem solved

a few photos of the things that I really do not care about. the adjustment **** is probably my least favorite thing on the bike.

This is the shock adjustment ****. its on the left side and points downward. its a fairly hard turn without a lot of space to maneuver.

the new saddle bag connector bolt. its threaded, but I didn't bolt it all the way up. the handle points upward when you take it all the way up

connector bolt as it sits in the bag

the connecting manifold pipe. it connects to the muffler on the right side. it does not connect to the muffler on the left. on the left, it connects higher up on the header (I think)

Cushion saddlebag supports for the bottom of the saddlebags haven't changed.
