I was getting ready to perform a 3 hole fluid change and had a question. I thought I had some formula + left over from the last change but I don't. I only bought 1 qt this time around so my question is can I use the 32oz of formula + and use mobile 1 20w50 to top it off at the 38oz required?
I think I'd just buy enough Formula+ to do the job. So far, that's the best stuff I've tried in my primary for quiet and smooth ops.
First time I changed the primary I desided to measure how much was in a qt of Formula +...36 to 37 oz.
Just did my 20k and so far I have measured 37 oz from 3 diffrent Formula + qts.
I just added the difference from a qt of Syn3 I had left over....
Each time the level comes up to the clutch basket as per the service manual, bike level on bike jack.
The oz's mean nothing. Only the height does. Bottom of the clutch basket, right to bottom. Oh still on my original compensator, running 1 liter in the primary on my 2008.
The 2008 and 2016 are different. Narrow primary and HYD clutch. Many read it wrong but a 2016 with narrow primary is 34oz wet fill unlike our early models. With the HYD cultch looking into see clutch basket is not as easy. Also 2016 narrow primary bike needs to be straight up when you fill it or it will run out before at correct level. .
This has been the standard for a long time Red line bike straight up. However when you look in a HYD ,narrow primary things look different.
Concept is still the same.

So, a quart of Formula+ isn't a standard 32oz's = one quart?
I just changed my a couple of days ago and added another 6oz plus a full bottle of Formula+ to mathematically come up with the 38oz that the manual states to replenish.
I guess I'll have to pick-up another bottle and measure the fluid in it.
Maybe I'm just assuming that a bottle is a quart????? Help!
