I have a 2014 Ultra Limited and cleaning the bike yesterday I noticed that on the right side about 8 inches before the muffler attaches, there is clamp that holds the heat shield on. The spot welds are showing through the chrome and it is causing wrinkles in the chrome and it looks bad.
I was wondering if I took it to a dealer, do you think they would replace it under defects in materials and workmanship warranty or would they consider that wear and tear?
I can't get a good photo of it because the chrome reflects so much on the curve, it is hard to spot it. But looking at it standing next to the bike, it is plain as day.
Before bringing it up to the Dealers service dept.,take a look at their used bike inventory and see if that imperfection is found on other bikes. Harley does a pretty good job with their chrome, but it is far from show quality.
