I use 20/50 and ride all winter sometimes in the teens with heated gear. The problem with where I live is that it can be in the 20s one day and two days later it might be 65-70 degrees. If oil was temperature dependent I'd be swapping it out every other week between Nov and March.

Thanks guys for putting me at ease. Next decision on oil will be HD Synthetic at the first service?

You'd have a hard time finding someone who will argue against the benefits of full synthetic oil. I'm running conventional oil in my new scoot until the 1k service. Then I'll run Mobil 1 synthetic exclusively.

This seems to be the consensus. Gone are the days I guess of waiting 5-8,000 miles before changing.
