Default RSD intake installation question

I just purchased the RSD air intake for my 14 limited. While assembling, I noticed a 1/4" air gap between my throttle body and backing pate. it came from the spacers/covers for the banjo/vent bolt covers. My question is can I remove the bracket (pic) on top of the throttle body to loose this 1/4" or go thru the pain and agony of trying to get the right spacers?

It depends on how lucky you are, I ran into the same thing on my 13. That bracket actually keeps the throttle body positioned vertically. I didn't realize it at the time and cut the tabs off mine so I didn't have to use a thicker gasket. I got lucky and the throttle body didn't rotate down. My indy noticed it and let me know to keep an eye on it as he's seen plenty where guys take them off and the TB slips. I believe RSD makes a thicker gasket that can be used, zipper's does as well.
