Sometimes you have to trim the flat part of the bushings so that they will seat together. Otherwise you'll have issues torquing the riser bolts and keeping everything level and flush. There's not much forgiveness like with the rubber bushings where they squeeze together.

Lay some sandpaper on a flat surface so you don't create any angles and do a little at a time.

Well managed to make a Menards run bought some 3/4 longer bolts and some flat washers managed to draw the bushing into the frame that way,
biggest problem now is wiring the bars while attempting the left side heated grip barley went on the wild 1 578's did not even force the grip won't slide in the bar and to top it off
the heated grip control popped off can't get it back on
Had to walk away at a loss as to reassemble the grip............
Seems everything I touch lately turns to **** geeeez
Look like a trip to the dealer for new grips

I had to ream out my 578's to get the heated grip to work. There is a chance it might work with grease, but that's iffy too.

Bought a wheel cylinder hone yesterday and reamed out the bars.
The tight fit is rubber type insulator in the very end of the grip, not sure what its function is but that is the culprit.
Ordered a new left grip yesterday to hopefully complete the project by the weekend.
