Default Handlebar riser bushings?

Digging in for the winter soon, so I 'm starting on my overhaul list for Deluxe by changing my handlebars. Just ordered Chubby's, along with braided cables and Kuryakyn ISO grips. Was also going to purchase riser bushings, thinking they will dampen some vibration. Wild 1 told me they are really just a replacement for the rubber bushings and will last a life time. They really don't do much for Vibration damping. They carry hard (stiffer, for use on taller risers) or soft (recommended) bushings $25, where HD has there's for $39. I know we're only talking cents, so just replace anyways while bars are off and take my pick?

I went with drag specialties, but whatever brand, make sure its the polly bushings. The stock bushings are alot more (loose) and I had wayy to much freeplay at my grips (about 3") back and fourth. Then I swiched to the polly and its alot better. Still have alittle movement when pushing the bike out of the garage, but no issues while riding, use a 1 piece top handlebar clamp too.

I have a set of poly bushings that will replace the stock rubber ones as soon as I get a chance. I'm doing it for better alignment-hold for the bars to stay square with fork nuts. The down-side, aparently poly bushings pass more vibration. (Dennis Kirk Part #: 50600).

An old-timer told me about putting lead fishing weights just inside the bars before the grips go back on. Wedge 8-16oz bank sinkers in there to change the effects of vibration reflecting up. The lead aparently deadens/absorbs the vibration and makes things better.

I'm sure someone on here has better details and first-person experience.

you know that's not as quirky as it might seem. I ran into a web site that has a product that fits into the bar end. It looks like a dumb-bell sawed in half. Claims to totally dampen out vibration. Just looks funky, having weights hanging out of your grips.

I'll gonna give the ol' sinka trick a try though...

Poly poly poly , did I mention poly ? When I did my apes I used the stock bushings way to much play for me . As far as vibration at least with the 16's on my Fatboy I do not have a problem and I would guess the ISO grips help with that .
