It is the nature of the beast HOWEVER, I just solved that problem on my SGS. My battery is 32 months old and Ive always put it on a tender when not riden for a few days. Has always started but does have that slow spin, especially when warmed up. Ive read and asked a few buddies and it seems batteries have a life of about 36 month, give or take. Since I like to waste money, I though I would buy a lithium battery for my bike before I got stuck in some far off land. I bought the one made but Deletion, which is the parent company of Battery Tender brand tenders. It arrived from Amazon and I though the box was empty, only 3lbs. Removed the lead/acid stock battery (15lbs.) and added the supplied foam spacers to make the lithium battery the same dimensions as stock. one word, UNREAL. It starts so much better now, no hesitation at all, cold or hot, and although they do suggest using a lithium specific tender, they also say no tender is needed for extended periods set unused. It starts like I feel it should now every time. Cost is about $200 delivered, not that far off from lead/acid batteries.

What is the amazon link to the battery you purchased?

Mine goes on a tender whenever it's sitting un used. It has hesitated from day one also, I'm used to it now. 2014 ultra classic bone stock.

Any ideas?
Thanks
Seems?? There is a specific test for the batteries CCA. It either passes, or it fails. There is no "seems" involved.

Take the bike to a battery shop and have them test it (after charging fully). If its fails take a pic of the tester display. Then go to the dealer and give them the results. If they test it and say its good ask them to see the results for yourself. On my '05 EG I replaced its battery bout every 14-16 months

Good luck....Mike

Thanks again
Well got the results. Everything checked out OK. Battery tested under load was fine, all electrical OK and compression releases normal.
Wasn't going to insist on spending big $ for a new battery if not needed.
Hopefully that hesitation is as whats been said the nature of the beast.
Ride on

I was having this issue where my bike would hesitate and restart the BOOM system whenever I started the bike. I typically turn the bike on in accessory mode and then let the BOOM system boot up while I'm gearing up and then turn the bike to one and then hit the start button. In the past that worked well but in the last 8 months or so it would randomly restart the BOOM system and when starting. It was frustrating cause it takes forever for the CB to come back on.

I took the bike in to the dealer and they advised my battery was bad and they replaced it under warranty. I have a few more months left of my warranty. I hope this new battery will help. If I would have had to purchase the battery I would have went with one with 600cca instead of the stock one with 400cca but I'll go that route next time.
