Default First World Problem

Okay, I'll admit this isn't a significant issue, but you guys are geniuses and I know somebody out there has figured this out already. On my 15 Road Glide Special, there is a 12 volt lighter type outlet on the lower left inner fairing. It has a tethered cap on it that absolutely positively will not stay in there while underway. It blows/vibrates out and dangles there until I stuff it back in. Got any ideas on how to get it to stay in there and yet come out should I need to use the outlet?

How about a small dab of silicone sealant?

Maybe an automotive cigarette plug from the auto parts store? Is bike still under warranty?

They could replace it, I guess, but it would just be another cheap plastic plug, right?

Yours is the first one I heard of popping loose. Maybe a new one will stay put. If not then they would probably replace the whole outlet to correct the problem.

Mine comes out all the time also, I just don't worry about it. Silicone sealant and a cigarette lighter are both good ideas.

Mine non stop pops out. I'm going to put a few wraps of black tape Round the part that slides in. Make it a little more snug.

Sounds like a plan. You just expect to not have to do crap like this to a "premium" product.

this was my fix also. HD should be embarrassed by the level of cheap and nasty they pass on to customers.
