2015UltraLimited

Thanks for the offer. I plan on tackling this project in the next 2 weeks and do plan on removing the tank. The information offered by you and HB will be very helpful. The only thing I will be doing differently is I will be wiring my Darlas into the high beam and horn wiring so the light will go to 100% anytime the high beams are on or the horn is activated.

I would be a little concerned using vampire style taps in something that has the possibility to be exposed to so much weather as a motorcycle tank. Granted, the harness is buried under the tank, but I'm paranoid by nature, and fear a little corrosion would start just as I start a long trip and the circuit would fail. Solder and glued shrink wrap are the way to go I think. But thank you very much for the info about just sliding the tank back a few inches to expose that switch assembly. That's good info.

The switchpack itself is p/n 69200172 which is a complete assembly that includes the one 7140044 switch, two p/n 71400031 blank switch buttons & the switch housing that holds the 3 switches, p/n 59200173

Hope that helps.
I know this thread is a bit old but I have a one more wiring issue. I have the Harley fogs installed on a 2015 limited. The recommended installation (per HD) connects them to the existing driving lights and are controlled via the same number one switch on the left side switch pack. I also have the 71400106 harness and acc switch buttons that connects in the left side cover. So I should mention that one end of this harness connects as shown earlier in this thread. This harness splits to two lines each controlled by one of the 2 acc switches on the switch pack. One is low current (<2A) and the other controls a relay to support devices over 2A. The low current branch is unterminated wires, and the high current branch is terminated with a 2 pin weather proof connector. My question is, how do I make the connection from this connector under the side cover to the fog light connectors? My goal is to have ON/OFF control of these lights with a separate switch from the upper running lights. I know I'll have to run something from the side cover to the fog light Y cable harness but I can't find an OEM harness that does that. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

The Accesories Harness has 3 unterminated wires that can be used to directly power the H-D LED Fog Lights since their current draw is under 2 Amps. You can connect the Fog Lamps harness to any of those leads. When installed & connected, the Fog Lamps willl be activated by the center switch in the left side console switchpack (stock driving lights use the left switch in that same switchpack). The right switch in that switchpack controls the relay (over 2 Amp) connector.

On my 14 Limited I'm using all 3 switches in the switchpack located in the left side of the console:
  • left switch - OEM driving lamps
  • center switch - Clearwater Darla LED lights (Darla wiring includes its' own relay, this switch activates that relay)
  • right switch - H-D Coolflow Fan [uses the accessories harness relay - (over 2 Amps)]

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input Hamms. Did you come up with a custom harness to connect the accessories harness to the lights and fan? What I currently have is the accessories harness behind the left side cover and a Y harness connects the fogs to one of the OEM driving light connections. I think that Y harness is long enough to reach the accessories harness (via the cable highway under the tank) but I'd have to make a custom interconnect there. I was hoping there was a way to hook things up without cutting off existing connectors and splicing.
So if you're using the accessories harness, where did you end up locating the relay? That is a big lump to store under the side cover.

Thanks for your help.

Ended up removing my existing accessories harness & using the new one that came with the Coolflow Fan (had the correct relay & connector). It did require cutting the Clearwater harness from the old Accy harness & making a soldered connection covered with shrink tube for the red control lead to one of the low power connections in the Accy harness. The Clearwater harness is connected to the battery & has its' own 10 Amp fuse. The Accy wire feeds up under the seat. There's enough room there to accomodate the relay & connector.

Damn you guys did some good work. I am getting some installed tomorrow. I am leaning toward Erica lights but wonder if Darla fork mount or crash bar mount would be good enough. I have the Limited model so the lowers limit the mounting options. it appears the ericas stick out pass the lowers which I don't really like that look
