In theory the air breather is a form of regulating air flow. The engine will take all the air its given resulting in a lean fuel mixture if fuel isn't recalibrated to safe settings aligning with the added air flow. Like above mentioned truly the best complete performance enhancement is to just bite it and install, exhaust,heavy breather, and fuel pak/ tuner.

Nothing wrong with a Big Sucker, but a K&N air filter in the stock housing will flow all the
air your Bike can use. K&N part #HD-1614 for about $60.oo
