Most are replacing with single din unit just to get better sound, but the new DSPs available have pretty much made that a moot point. They're not perfect, but guys are learning more and improving daily.
There's a couple of double din touch screen options, but still nothing that has all the features and is waterproof and plays with factory controls.
The quality of sound you can get with a DSP is amazing. Unless you really hate the 6.5 the incentive to pull it out has dropped significantly with their use.
