Typical lowlife stealer bullsh!t. I had one tell me the same thing when I was bike-shopping for a '15 Limited.

I told him that was pure BS & left. I ended up buying mine from Reed at Sun H-D in Denver. Decent, honest folks and a good OTD deal, too.

I was so nervous about it having this and other issues (and they were so confident that it wouldn't) that they included a buy-back option if something serious happened during the first year. Couldn't ask for more than that!!

Supposedly, the MOCO has tightened up the tolerances on the 103 crankshaft parts and they now use 200-ton presses to assemble them. It must have worked, since I haven't seen any "scissored-crank" threads on the Rushmore forum that I can remember.

Do you need a welded crank on stock build? Probably not. If I had mine out, I would proably do it. But I am the type who never wants to do it again, and will do all I can when I am into something.

One build on a 110 TMan parts Cams, pistons, Heads, had a Dark Horse welded and trued crank 126/120 dyno. Rode it like I stole it. No problems. Another 110 build Tman Heads, stock cams, 105/123 dyno. Stock crank 20,000 miles on the build rode mostly touring hasn't ate itself up yet...both tuned by Doc in Fl.
The two factors that really stress a crank.....burnouts, and high rpm downshifts to a lower gear. If you do either of these with regularity it will test your stock crank. Some may fail prematurely.
Many stock cranks from HD rolling thousands of miles with no problems....just ride.

Many people put many miles on those bike and never had a crank issue. There is always more to the story. Heard awhile back my old 2007 is still going.

Completely untrue. I've have no less than 10 twisted cranks in my hand.

Call someone that trues cranks and you'll surprised... Surprised.

It's "nice" your old 07 is working fine but that is hardly an indication of the full picture.
I mean, we ALL KNOW you're the, "It's ok, it's overblown, it's a lie, there is more to the story, every is fine!" guy, but really man.
You're talking to a bunch of people who've actually a had these issues and you look like a fool most of the time.

If you want to be taken seriously, be serious.

Also how many miles? My 07 is going only 50k, and 98" 2001 is going with 75k, but it has timken and better fly wheels in 2001. Some day I figure will rebuild bottom end, and will true and weld, if I don't stroke. Just cause when I am inside I don't want to do it again But I also realize it is alot of money and talk is cheap at the moment,
