Had no clutch switch operation after dealer washed after clutch recall, once it dried out it was fine. I now make a WD-40 flush part of my routine maintenance. Stick the straw into the housing and flood it. No issues since.
WD40 is not water based, its an oil that is diluted with hydrocarbons which creates a thin film oil that removes water from surfaces, leaving a thin coating that lubricates and inhibits minor corrosion without that oily feeling. Google it...

ok that statement might have been false, I did Google it. But from my experience wd40 is a good degreaser or cleaner. it dries on top of metal leaving a thin film for corrosion.
Pb blaster is a penetrating fluid that actually breaks rust like for a bolt or something.
in conclusion wd40 should be kept in your wash bucket and pb blaster should be kept in your tool box.
p.s. a water proof dielectric grease marine grade will work better then both, but this is an issue the dealer should really fix. When I changed my grips I did notice the switch housing tightened weird so I did it a couple of times before I thought it looked right.
