I'm using a PC windows 10. I've tried 2 different jump drive 1 was brand new. I unzipped both files to drives. I had done this before and never had problems. How can I get it to go back to normal screen? I had read that we were have trouble with it working with new update. Ive tried to reset with key off hold down power button then turn on and have pulled maxi fuse. Any other suggestions?
With the drive out turn on key after a few sec sez to insert drive to finish up date. I do that and I let it set for 3 hours and still it cycles between black screen and the please wait.
If I understand, you don't have a flash drive plugged in, and when you turn on the bike, it's asking you to insert the flash drive to finish the update?
When you pulled the fuse, did you wait at least ten minutes before plugging it back in?
Thanks brothers problem resolved! To get out of loop I put USB drive with radio update on it and it started updating. Then I reverted to an older version, then installed the dealer update then installed the newest radio version. All is good now.
So lesson learned on this update DONOT update radio then Nav.

Thanks again!
No problem same thing happened in my pickup and that was solution, lucky guess, glad it worked.
I had the same issues a few days ago trying to install the new dealer POIs. One I installed the previous version of the system update the POIs loaded with no issues, I then reinstalled the newest system update and everything seems to be working fine.
Sitting at dealer right now just got word from Harley Service center they have no solution to Boom locking up with POI update. Harley says radio has to be replaced. Local service tech asks me to try backdating BOOM software to see what happens.
I don't know if this has been stated already, and I don't want to read the entire thread to find out, but this is what worked for me in the end.
Tried to install POI update and system would try to load, go black and try to load again repeatedly. Unplugged thumbdrive and got screen saying to reinsert thumbdrive.
Inserted thumbdrive with latest update and allowed it to reinstall. Then installed previous update. The system would not directly install the previous update directly from the attempted POI update.
Successfully installed the POI update.
Reinstalled the latest system update.
This involved about two hour's worth of muttering and cussing before I finally got things in the correct order by trial and error......
