Anyone that has had their face hit something solid and would prefer avoiding the possible damage that can cause in future incidents?

I know a guy who never wore a helmet unless he had to. Well a big Kansas June Bug hit him in the cheek, it broke the skin before it squished. He spent months with a infected wound from bug guts. He bought a full face after that and has wore one since. That is one reason I wear a full face 90% of the time.

It always amazes me that there is a productive thread and there has to be one ******* that has to throw in something stupid.

If people want to wear full face helmets and leather pants and leather jackets I guess to each his own. Yes if you go down it will protect your hide for a few feet but if I had to ride confined like that I wouldn't even own a bike. Wearing a helmet is bad enough [ I do]. I ride with a lot of people and the only ones that wear full face are BMW people, I
guess their smarter than the rest of us?

Not smarter, but perhaps they have personal experiences/observations that the others don't have? And perhaps they have weighed the benefits against the negatives and have made a different choice then other people?

Or perhaps the BMW rider's haven't had their helmets stolen?

Me.

My Shoei RF-1200 is actually quite a bit cooler in hot weather than any of the 3/4 or 1/2 helmets I used to wear. And it keeps the bugs off my face and my face on my head should I ever have an accident.

I use the universal mount helmet lock, mounted on my saddle bag crash bar on right side. Holds two helmets good and keeps them off the pipes if you mount it right. Just below the top bend on the crash bar. But I too leave them on the seat at times. Probably not smart of me.

How about something like this: https://lidlox.com/?

I use the HD helmet lock with a "T-bar" like this....that I bought at Cycle-Gear.
