Yikes, I have never needed more than 20 waypoints per day of riding. Make sure you (1) have your nav set to fastest and (2) check your avoidances. In avoidances, make sure you do not have "In-process data (IPD)" selected. IPD are roads that haven't been physically driven by the map maker, which is a LOT, so if it is selected the route will be all over the place. In addition, if you have it set to avoid highways or toll roads and you have a way point on a highway or toll road your route will do its best to get to that waypoint without using either.
Now that's an interesting thought, I did have it set to fastest, I checked that. I COULD have had some of the avoidance's set, I didn't check that and it's been awhile since I used the GPS to navigate so I don't remember. Unfortunately I can't check that now cause when I did the reset it set everything back to defaults. The first route I used about 40 waypoints, a pretty straightforward route off Long Island using a couple of parkways, over a bridge, a few more parkways and then off the main roads and about 140 miles of back roads, the whole trip was only 175 miles. When I loaded it into the bike it wanted to take me way out of the way, through Manhattan, crazy! That's why I went back and added the extra waypoints, I thought that was the problem, guess not. Next time I'll have to remember to check the avoidance's first, thanks for that tip!
