I did the progressives-- but as mentioned occasional clunk
I purchased and installed mine in March of this year. I have not experienced the "clunk". Perhaps my later model unit has the heavy damper spring that plongson mentioned in his post.
I am waiting on ohlins cartridge inserts from Howard at motorcycle metal. I will have a set of legends inserts going up for sale when I get them installed. I will also put my legends aero a airshock kit up for sale at the same time. Watch the classifieds if interested
I put Screaming Eagle fork oil in mine and it works great. Terry Cable in the rear.
It may feel a little more stiff and have less brake dive, but your performance when cornering will still be poor and possibly even worse. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it'll still be the same inferior suspension.
Have any independent lap tests to backup that statement?
or is that just your opinion?
It's basic suspension. A heavier fluid will slow the suspension down, which will effectively "firm" it. But because it's slowed down, it won't react nearly as quickly, meaning that the suspension won't be effectively doing it's job of keeping the tire on the road.
If you search for Howard's posts, you'll find an exhaustive description of how this works and why heavier fork oil is not a good option.
