Don't know if I will put a stage 3 or just go with stage 2 in my new 2018 ultra limited after reading about all the sump issues. We have had a 2012 and 2016 limited with stage 2 install and no problems. Would like the big power but don't want to give up reliability. Undecided
If it's still within the first 60 days of ownership it will be covered under your factory warranty. I did stage 2TQ on my 17 and really like it, but now that I am used to it I want more but it will not be covered by my warranty.
If I had it to do over I think I would have did stage 3 or 4 but used the TQ cam from stage 2. A dealer near me did this on a stage 3 and said the customer really liked it.
Good Luck and enjoy the new ride.
Thanks, probably go for stage 3 as I really don't push my bike that hard but I like being able to pass without shifting down. My dealer tells me that I will have full warranty if I do the stage 3 before the bike goes out. We have a few weeks to think about this.
Mine is a Stage 2 103. Unless you want some serious and expensive improvement, you don't need a Stage 3. Just pick the right cam for the kind of riding you like, and get somebody who knows how to use a dyno.
I can hang just far enough behind an 18 wheeler that I can see the tractor's mirror, drop it into 5th and roll it on, and I'll be over 100 when I pull back into the right lane.
And I've seen 115 and it was still pulling. Lots of fun!!

What worries me is the high compression with stage 3 and all the heat build up that comes with it. That is whats bothering me about pulling the trigger on stage 3. Want to run with the big boys but hate to loose reliability. DAMN, life is a B----!
