Default Factory Heated Grip Question

I accidently pulled off the adjustment **** on the end of my left handlebar. The **** came off along with a little flat metal piece (assume it is a contact). I can take pictures later if needed. My question is, does it just pop on and where how does the little metal contact bar go under the ****? Thanks in advance for any help.

You’ve prolly got nothing to lose at this point by attempting to pop it back on. By all means post a pic

I think you will need to replace the grip. That isn't meant to be disassembled. You may be able to piece it back together but without seeing it come apart it may be tough. its worth a try before scrapping it.

I think I pulled mine out when I changed bars just lined it up and popped it back in. Tried looking it up in Maintenance manual, No joy.

I did the same thing before. Got it back on and they worked fine. However I feel that I got VERY lucky.

It was a bear to get everything lined back up properly and back together. Look at all the pieces very closely and study them. There is a certain way it has to go back together.

Good luck

The end cap coming off won't hurt it electrically provided you get it back on correctly.

The "contact" is a little indent spring used to give you feedback when you turn the cap to each numbered position. I don't have a pic but it goes in the cap between two place holders located around the interior edge.

The cap itself goes on only one way. Look around it's interior lip to find the wide "key", line it up on the grip where you see the wires (thats the key hole), press it on lightly while spinning the number selector so it finds its center key as well, then press hard...

Good luck.
