There's plenty other cams that make more power, but the 255's are no slouch and can be had very inexpensively as guys swap them from their CVOs, where they came stock.

I think your performance goals mirror my own when selecting cams, and I couldn't be happier with the 255's.

Thank you so much for your input and the graph of power results.

Looks like the 255 is making similar power as a stock 103HO. The 255 S are great cams and would be an upgrade prerushmore bikes but to similar on a rushmore bike. The cyclerama or woods would be an upgrade IMHO.

Here is my concern, Fuel Moto gets just as much power with a stock cam on this set-up. I guess it is, all in which head pipe one runs.

Different bike. Different day. Different operator. Different heat and humidity... comparing overall numbers is pretty useless. Also they are in the buisness of selling their own exhaust.

I am not looking to make her a power horse. I am not wanting to bore over, or get a 110 or 120 motor. I just want a little extra out of stock motor and be able to enjoy riding. I ride a mix of back roads and highway. I don't feel the need to go mach 5 with my beard on fire. I enjoy the ride.

My question is... Is it worth it? What kind of power gains should I expect from all this and is it worth the money to get the cams and kit? Thanks, all. I appreciate your time reading and responding to this.
Is it worth it? Yes. SE 255 not so much. I like your V&H choice. HD Tuner. Not so much. PV way better, Solid push rods definitely not so much. See advice is post #6

A very nice drop in cam which gets overlooked,,and which your HD tuner has a map for, is the SE 204.

The 204 will take some of that overkill torque you have at low RPM's and spread it evenly from between 2800 RPM and 4500 RPM. This makes for very even torque from 0 on up and gives meaning to 6th gear which the OEM cam relegates to gutless overdrive function.

I have the 204 in my 2014 BO and I'm really impressed with the oomph I get from 2800 RPM on up. This would not be a good cam, however, if you like lugging away just above 2 grand like some riders do. I believe the 255 would be a better cam for that.

Oh,, the 204 has a relatively large overlap so you get a lumpy, lopey idle.

I like it but if you don't then its not the cam for you.

I have the se585 cams along with power duals and the heavy breather intake. It’s making right around 98 hp and 118 tq. Runs and sounds great.
