In my humble opinion allens will strip before a torx will. Like nomadmax stated, the right bit (T27), antiseize, and torque is the cure all. Put a T25 in one and it'll strip if torqued too tight.

It's not the "going in" that concerns me. It's the "coming out".

I've stayed with the factory Torx fasteners and have had no trouble with them. I use the correct (INCH POUNDS) torque, and do not use locktite (or anti seize for that matter).

I can see where using the wrong size (T25) might confuse a few since many torx bit sets don't include a T27. Less clear on what the confusion is on torque- are some people confusing foot pounds with inch pounds? If so, ouch....................

I use a torque wrench and blue thread locker, haven't had an issue yet.

Also, would you go stainless steel or chrome?

Lastly, where do you go to buy them?
1/4-20 X 5/8 u can find SS bolts at most any hard wear store

Changed them out with Chrome, cause i like chrome, use a quality T27, no loctite, no anti seize, just use the correct tool and snug them up.

I change all three oils at 3K, so the primary comes off, i just use a ratchet and pay attention when working with all of the fasteners on the bike.

I just use a torque wrench and follow the manual and i have no issues at all with torx. I'm not a fan of hex or torx fasteners period.
